In 1925, Mother Lydia B. Tate began the Boosting For Jesus Circle Prayer Band in her home, located at 3933 W. Belle. The prayer band grew so large that it had to move to the basement, from the 2nd floor.  In Mother Tate's basement, benches were placed for the Saints to begin having regular Saturday night services. On April 21, 1936, the Boosting Jesus Circle Prayer Band produced a Church - "The All Saints Gospel Feast Holiness Church." The Church moved to Compton & Lawton and from there to 19 N. Garrison, "just a hole in the wall". God visited this placeorigkossuthblding15pct.jpg mightily; heaven would come down and glory filled their souls. Elder James L. Ward and Elder John Schafer, ministered to the body of Christ. "People came out of the tavern to hear Elder Ward preach". In 1945, the Church moved to 507 S. Jefferson, where God was yet moving by His Spirit, with various revival meetings, and many souls were being saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. In 1945, the All Saints Gospel Feast Holiness Church united with the Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Elder James L. Ward.  On April 12, 1959, the All Saints Gospel Feast Holiness Church of God in Christ moved and dedicated its new Church at 4215 Kossuth and became known as Kossuth Church of God in Christ.

After the death of two Pastors, in 1976, the Church prayed as never before for God to give them a Shepherd. Brother Robert D. Strong began to teach. Many of the saints were amazed. God was preparing a man.  On April 17,1977, Elder Robert D. Strong became Pastor of Kossuth Church of God in Christ. Many newkosinside.jpgsouls were saved under his ministry, especially the youth. Under Elder Strong's leadership, the vision of a new edifice was given from the Lord based on Haggai 1:8 "Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord".  On April 17, 1983, the vision became a reality, the new edifice at 3801 Clarence was dedicated. The Saints were cheerful givers and helpers to this tremendous task. Funds from the Women's Day Service were donated for the kitchen and the Sunday School classrooms were built by the brethren. Thank God the people had a mind to work!
